I knew this was going to be a disaster the second I saw the promo and couldn’t help myself.
Gotta love FOX plugging their precious music awards as they’re showing archived footage of devastating carnage.
I get you’re to expect tabloid filth from TMZ, but Jesus Christ. Nearly the whole hour was either admitted speculation or flight attendants (still alive and uninjured by the way!) stepping a little out of pocket after 20+ years.
I’m not ruling out what they’re saying about potential perpetrators. I’m sure all that could be true.
It’s not like anyone ever scoffed at the idea of a fifth plane. We’ve heard about possible attempted hijackings on the same day before, out of hindsight and hearsay.
You know where Flight 93 was heading? Washington!
The network of people on that day willing to attack and kill thousands of innocents, and succeeding, makes this all appear plausible.
Now, the dramatization of the man in the burka. The theatrical footage of the sweaty man in the back, and the other sweaty man arguing about food. Alright, suspicious activity. Why did I have to see that repeatedly?
Am I a bad person for laughing when the Flight 23 pilot told his female assistant to hit any hijacker in the head with a fire extinguisher?
They did the right thing in any case for evacuating. Passengers on other planes weren’t fortunate enough to be made aware of the plain box cutters. They were told more was in possession.
The abundance of box cutters on some planes back then had everything to do with how terrible security was.
Scratched my head at the break-in scene. Having a hard time believing they can do all that and not have their names known. There’s implications here that I won’t even bother to humor.
I can’t go “oooh and ahhh” over the FBI interviewing them personally because, uhh..... they were at fucking Kennedy Airlines?
I mean if National Security could be careless enough to allow such a thing to happen in the first place, I’d certainly hope they’d at least put eyes on every flight and sort out information.
Do I believe the flight attendants in this story got a raw deal? Sure. It was a traumatic experience for a lot of people, and the company should’ve stuck by their employees.
But I still hold some level of contempt for that Sandy Thorngren lady.
You know a real flight attendant hero? Betty Ong. She spent her final moments on the phone conveying valuable information as her plane was hijacked, and the situation was beyond grim by that point.
Survivals of this national tragedy are fighting cancer as we speak, and you’re holding a grudge with some faceless company you chose to spend 3 decades slaving for. Sorry that happened, but it’s not something we should be focusing on.
And of course, they just had to show Bush’s brave statements during the credits. Lol. Give me a fucking break.
